Course Syllabus
General Course Description: Physical science is a two-semester survey course with emphasis on introductory chemistry (1st semester) & physics (2nd semester). The topics covered in this course will include, but are not limited to: lab techniques & lab safety, scientific method, conceptualization of the structure of atoms, motion & forces, conservation of energy & matter, action/reaction principle, & wave behavior.
Textbook: Physical Science: Concepts in Action - Prentice Hall (2009)
Materials: Composition book, Glue Sticks, and Pencils
Grading Policy: Grades will be based on the following percentages:
Absences: Students have the same number of days to complete missed assignments as he/she was absent in accordance with school policy. If the student is absent on the day an assignment is due, he/she must turn in the work on the returning day or it will be considered late. It is the responsibility of the student to approach the teacher to receive make-up work. Please see the agenda for further information on the make-up work policy.

- Projects/Tests - 50%
- Quizzes/Labs/Homework - 50%
